West stands atop a rock in Lee Vining Creek and casts his fishing rod into the creek. He stands just left-of-center and faces to the right. He holds his fishing rod out to the right. The creek flows around him in the foreground. Trees line the opposite bank as they extend into the distance. Text from negative sleeve: Rock Creek trip 1941. We drove over to Leevining[sic] Creek one day, and had lunch on the banks of the stream. After lunch we tried fishing. H.H.West fishing. Did not get a strike.
