Photograph of Pete Aigner filling up the tank on H. H. West's Buick while Dave F. Smith mills about Aigner's garage in Lone Pine. Pete Aigner's garage, "MT WHITNEY GARAGE & LIVERY," stands in the near distance and is viewed at an angle from the front. In front of the garage, Dave F. Smith's EMF is parked at left, facing the open garage door and H. H. West's Buick is parked at right; it is viewed from the side and faces left. Pete Aigner stands, right-of-center, on the Buick's running board to fill the tank by the driver's seat. His back is to the camera. On the rear passenger door of the Buick, "H. H. W." is inscribed. Two men stand on either side of H. H. West's Buick near the rear end of the vehicle and face left. Dave F. Smith stands in the distance at center, inside the garage. He faces left. His EMF is parked just outside the garage with its back end towards the camera. A sign hanging from the upper right front corner of the garage reads, "AUTOS FOR HIRE TO ALL POINTS NAME YOUR PLACE." Trees line the background and mountains are barely visible in the far distance at right.
