It is viewed from the back side of the house at an angle. A windmill stands adjacent to the house at left. Its turbine faces towards the left. Nearer to camera and to the left of the windmill, apricots dry while sitting in a grid configuration on the ground. On the right side of the house, sheets hang from a line to dry. A tree trunk rises alongside the left edge of the image in the foreground. Text from negative sleeve: 1210. Santa Ana, California, avout [sic] 1899. Nichols Ranch. Fanny Nichols aunt Miss Kate Metrz [sic] and her brother Charles Mertz buy a ranch at Santa Ana. I went down one Sunday and spent the day and took these photos. 1.
