Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Doc Ashby with other attendees of the Iowa Picnic in Lincoln Park. He wears a hat and glasses and speaks to two men. There are other people in the background and foreground. A man at the right smokes a cigar and holds a coat under his arm. Another group stands together at the left. There are trees in the background and the sign reading, "Adams" is posted on one. The assumption has been made that "Doc" is short for doctor in the name "Doc Ashby." Text from negative sleeve: 1358. Iowa State picnic, Lincoln Park, Los Angeles, Calif., Feb. 25, 1939. 1. Side view of Doc Ashby's face way thru in the center, his hat touching the Adams sign in tree. Don't know rest. 2.
