She sits facing the piano to the left but turns her head to look towards the camera. The upright piano enters the frame at left. Behind Louise and the piano is a door. A doorway leading towards another room is behind and too the right of Louise.
Text from negative sleeve: 1686. Los Angeles, California. North Hellman St., East Los Angeles. Now Avenue 24. 1. The Ambroses lived in the first house up Hellman street, across the alley from the rear yard of Doc Schloss' drug store. H.H.Cooper and family lived there first. I went up to take some pictures of Louise Ambrose. Louise Ambrose at the piano in their home. 2. 3. Two pictures posed by Louise Ambrose on their front porch. 4.
