Worm's-eye view of Louise Ambrose posing for a photograph while balancing atop the rail surrounding the front porch of her family's home on North Hellman Street (now Avenue 24). The side of the porch extends from the left and back towards the right. Louise Ambrose stands atop the rail at center. She looks down to the camera while she holds onto the decorative rail that hangs down from the eave. A chicken wire trellis extends to the right of Louise and the porch. Text from negative sleeve: 1686. Los Angeles, California. North Hellman St., East Los Angeles. Now Avenue 24. 1. The Ambroses lived in the first house up Hellman street, across the alley from the rear yard of Doc Schloss' drug store. H.H.Cooper and family lived there first.
