H. H. West's wife, Mary, sits on the front porch of a house with their daughters, Elizabeth and Frances, and Mary's cousin, Lola Bidwell. Elizabeth sits on the side of the steps, swinging her legs and holding a cylindrical object. Frances sits in Mrs. West's lap. Ms. Bidwell wears a white dress with a dark skirt. She has her hands on her knees. There is a table on the porch behind them.
