H. H. West Jr. kneels in front of his grandfather, Charles Teel's gravestone while Mertie West stands to the side. His paternal grandfather, George M. West's gravestone is behind him. West wears a hat and a sweater. Mertie wears a coat and holds a purse. There are other gravestones in the background, as well as cars and houses.
The Evergreen Cemetery was established in 1877 and is located in the Boyle Heights neighborhood at 204 N. Evergreen Avenue.
Text from negative sleeve: 1942. Los Angeles, California. Evergreen Cemetery, about 1933. 1. Henry H. West, Jr. at left of Charles Teel monument in Evergreen Cemetery. Decoration Day 1933. Just back and to left of H. H. West Jr. is the stone marker of the graves of George M. West and his wife. The Teel monument has a Royal Arch Mason stone at top and the West marker has a Shrine crescent. Mertie West at left. Looking toward town. The graves have all be decorated. 1 film.
