Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. The Evergreen Cemetery was established in 1877 and is located in the Boyle Heights neighborhood at 204 N. Evergreen Avenue. Gravestone of H. H. West's uncle and aunt, Daniel and Lucy Mead. The engraving in the stone reads, "MEAD. Father. Daniel June 5, 1836 Aug. 8, 1924. Mother. Lucy A. Oct. 5, 1841 Jan. 15, 1922." There are other gravestones in the background, as well as trees. Text from negative sleeve: 1956. Los Angeles, California. Evergreen Cemetery. May 14, 1939. 1. Grave is under the trees and so shady could not get a good picture without making an exposure. 3 films.
