Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Photograph of a fellow serviceman of H. H. West, Jr.'s standing in the doorway of H. H. West, Jr.'s quarters at Fort Mears. A large pile of snow stands in the foreground at left; sloping up from the right and extending out-of-frame at left. The Quonset hut stands in the near distance and is viewed from the front. It enters from the left frame and extends back on an angle to the right. A serviceman stands casually in the open doorway to the building. He holds a book or magazine in front of him as he glances up to look to the camera. A window sits on either side of the door. On the window frame at right, a number plate reads, "24." The large pile of snow at left abuts the front of the Quonset hut on the left side of the door. A smaller snow pile abuts the front of the hut to the right of the door.
