West stands on a rocky shore at center. He faces towards the camera as he holds a salmon by the gills, out to the left of him. The rocky shore inclines back towards the right. A wharf stretches across the image in the near distance, behind H. H. It stands elevated from the shore; its structural supports are visible beneath it. A building (partial view) stands atop the wharf, near the upper right corner. In the distance, a low mountain rises. Several punch holes line both the left and right edges.
