Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Photograph of totem poles standing at the entrance gate to the Capilano Suspension Bridge in Vancouver. A drive stretches across the foreground on an upward angle from the lower left corner to the right. At far right, a bus is parked in partial view; it is viewed from the rear. On the back of the bus, it reads, "GRAY LINE[...]," "THE GRAYLINE SIGHT[...] TOURS." "C4-173 47 BRITISH COLUMBIA," "32 C-1947-C.L. A 100," and "173." Wood fencing with a gate in the middle lines the left side of the drive. A totem pole (partial view) stands in front of the fence and along the left edge. A woman and man stand in front of it with their backs to the camera. To the immediate right of the man, a sign reads, "[...]TRANCE·." The gateway stands left-of-center. Signage over the gate reads, "CAPILANO SUSPENSION BRIDGE THE WORLD FAMOUS SWINGING BRIDGE." Atop the wood beams, a large, carved bird figure stands atop a reptilian carved figure. Signage to the right of the gate reads, "BUS STOP," and "PICNIC GROUNDS INSIDE." To the right of the signs, another tall totem pole stands in front of the fence. Pines rise in the background.
