NRHP reference # 80000347 (President's Park)
An out-of-focus photograph of the General William Tecumseh Sherman Monument standing in President's Park, as viewed from the west. The park's lawn stretches across the foreground. Its back edge is lined by a hedge. Beyond the hedge, the bronze, equestrian statue of General William T. Sherman rises in the near distance at center. It is viewed at a slight angle from the side. The figure of General Sherman sits atop a tall pedestal. He is seated on a horse, facing left. Lower on the near side of the pedestal, another bronze figure stands. Below the figure, a bronze tablet and bronze seals are inset into the side of the pedestal. The pedestal is supported by a wider base. Short, wide sets of steps lead up to the top of the base on each side. At each corner of the base, military figures stand, facing outward. Beyond the park, buildings stand in the background, including the Herbert C. Hoover at far right. Four punched holes line the top edge at left.
