Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. An out-of-focus photograph of the Pullman car, Clover Haven, sitting on the tracks of a train station in New Orleans. The photograph appears to tilt downward to the right slightly. A few sets of train tracks enter frame from the bottom edge and stretch back on an upward angle from right to left. In the near distance, the back end of a railroad car juts into frame from the left edge. Five men mill about the empty tracks at center. In the distance, the Pullman Clover Haven car sits on the farthest set of tracks. The rightmost 2 men work near the the side of the train car. The long car extends beyond the frame at right. Above its windows, it reads, "PULLMAN," and below the row of windows, it reads, "CLOVER HAVEN." Four punched holes line the bottom edge at right. According to the negative sleeve, this set of photographs is captured in color. The scans of these images are in black and white. Text from negative sleeve: 2343.
