Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. A slightly out-of-focus photograph of the sculpture, "Andrew Jackson," by Clark Mills standing in Jackson Square in New Orleans. In the foreground, masonry rubble is strewn across the park's grounds. Beyond it at center, wrought iron fencing encircles the monument to Andrew Jackson. The statue's base stands behind some shrubbery. Atop the base, the bronze statue stands. The figure of Andrew Jackson sits atop a horse rising up on its haunches. With one hand, the Andrew Jackson figure holds onto the reins and with the other he holds his hat up. The sculpture is viewed from the side with the figures facing left. Beyond the statue, the 3 spires of St. Louis Cathedral are visible rising at center. Four punched holes line the top right edge.
