According to the negative sleeve, this set of photographs is captured in color. The scans of these images are in black and white.
Photograph of Canal Street in New Orleans, as viewed from its intersection with Baronne Street. Baronne Street stretches along the bottom edge on a slight upward angle from right to left. Canal Street intersects Baronne Street at left and stretches back to the right. A median extends back through the middle Canal Street. Buildings line the far (or left) side of Canal Street. Signage on the buildings reads, from left to right, "LERNER SHOPS," "MANGEL'S," "[...]GUS MAYER CO.," "HOLMES," "Kreeger's," and "[...]ERIAL SHOES." At the near end of the median, just left-of-center, a sign affixed to a lamppost reads, "14% INCREASE IN NEW FAMILY WELFARE CASES COMMUNITY CHEST 1948." Pedestrians are visible walking in front of the shops at left and on the median at center. Cable car lines hang overhead and cars park along the street curbs. Four punched holes dot the bottom edge at right.
