Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. According to the negative sleeve, this set of photographs is captured in color. The scans of these images are in black and white. A poorly-lit or poorly-exposed photograph of a view of Fifth Avenue, as seen looking towards the northeast. A wide sidewalk enters frame from the left side of the bottom edge and stretches back on an upward angle to the right. Pedestrians in the near distance walk down the sidewalk; most walk towards camera. Along the right edge, awnings extend from the side of buildings and hover over the sidewalk. Behind, or to the left of the sidewalk, Fifth Avenue enters frame from the left edge. It is congested with automobile traffic as it recedes towards center. Buildings and skyscrapers line the left side of Fifth Avenue. Four punched holes line the top edge at left. Text from negative sleeve: 2348.
