Devised title from Library of Congress, quoting text inscribed in obelsik. Obelisk completed 1862, according to the online article "Initial Point — The Boundary Obelisk" (http://oppositethecity.wordpress.com/2012/10/29/initial-point-the-boundary-obelisk/ : accessed February 2014) This print is an early (presumably 1860s) albumen copy photograph. The original print was affixed to a wooden backing board for copying, and this board and a corner pin are visible along the lower edge.
