[Written on photograph] The Area on the left was burned and that on the right was not burned. That on the left showed heavy erosion and run-off, while the area on the right showed no signs of either erosion or run-off. Vegetation and litter enabled the water to penetrate in place in the latter case. Moorpark burned area, February 24, 1931. [Negative digitized]
