[Written on photograph] A Spring at the Hartman ranch on the Sespe which was observed this year to flow for the first time following clearing of vegetation. (1931) It was Dr. Loudermilk's explanation that clearing of vegetation had nothing to do with flow of water at this season due to the dormant condition of vegetation and lack of transpiration of all plants. The spring might have flowed before even if it was not evident last year. The spring was located above the large vegetation. It was a type of location where springs are usually found.
