Description
Medium: Ink on mica paper
Annotations/Markings: Dated "乙未" (1835) and signed "海屋生" followed by seal "海屋" at right edge. One additional seal at lower left corner.
Acquisition: Former Addiss-Seo Nanga Collection. Gift of Dennis and Alexandra Lenehan.
Biography/History: Kaioku was a major calligrapher and painter in Kyoto. (Stephen Addiss)
Funding: Digitization funded by an Institute for Museum and Library Services (IMLS) Leadership Grant (LG 30-02-0260-02) awarded to the University of California, Merced Library.
