UMAS RESOLUTION United Mexican-American Students (UMAS) at UC Riverside SUPPORT the following University-wide demands: 1. UC Berkeley to keep people's park open; 2. National Guard and off-Campus police to be withdrawn and State of Emergency lifted; 3. UC, City of Berkeley, and Alameda County to bear cost of all medical and legal aid; 4. Amnesty for all those arrested in connection with the People's Park strike since May 15; United Mexican-American Students (UMAS) at UC Riverside makes the following REQUESTS: 1. We ask that the Chancellor, Ivan Hinderaker, denounce the use of police force, National Guard, and other public authorities at all UC campuses; 2. We ask that all UC Riverside faculty members and administrators along with all Students, participate in the strike; 3. We ask that students, faculty and administrators work through the University Community (UC) steering committee to coordinate all activities; 4. Finally, UMAS-UCR SUPPORTS the Student State-Wide Strike on Monday and Tuesday Passed unanimously, May 22, 1969 United Mexican-American Students University of California, Riverside
