Description: "Escarpment Uganda Railway an incline of 1000 feet". Landscape view of a steep hillside with railway tracks going up it. There is a railcart to the right of the image and a man standing looking at the railway to the left. The Uganda Railway was built between 1896 and 1931
it extended from Mombasa, Kenya to Kampala, Uganda. It was built by the British Government using Sikh labourers brought over from India.
