Mrs. Machris was the wife of Wilshire Oil Co. executive, Maurice Machris. Both contributed numerous specimens to the Natural History Museum, Los Angeles.
Photograph caption reads: "Mrs. Maurice Machris, recently returned from African safari, shows native basket mask. Mrs. Machris (Paquita) and her husband are avid hunters and at the same time dedicated conservationists who believe hunting is part of good game management". Photograph dated: Sept., 25, 1977.
