View of the John Brockman estate, located at 1605 Arbor Drive in Glendale. This house was built around 1910 and is a copy of castle Bwick Reim located in Hessen, Germany, John Brockman's birthplace. The home boasts four fireplaces, six bedrooms and six baths, a billiards room, huge family room, the original carriage entry and a moat-like koi pond. The clock, seen in the tower on the right, was originally located in a barn at a residential property on Flower Street in Los Angeles. John Brockman moved the clock to this property in 1920 and had a new tower built. The tower includes living quarters for a maintenance man and a garage. As shown here, the property was originally quite extensive; it included a 100 acre park consisting of orchards and gardens. The estate now stands on almost an acre of land and maintains most of its original architectural integrity.
