Photograph article dated April 11, 1962 partially reads, "An investment of $600 and a humble Missouri barbecue recipe coupled with 14 years of hard work have projected 37-year-old Dan Love into the world of big business. Despite his meager capital, Love was completely confident of the eventual success of his venture when he founded the new famous Love’s Pit Barbecue restaurant in an old Encino real estate office back in 1948... The pilot Love's Pit Barbecue take-out unit has been established at 8936 Woodman Ave., Panorama City, and is doing a flourishing business."
