Original photograph has several stains. Photograph caption dated September 29, 1950 reads "'Art for the ages.'" Peter Zeola, an immigrant from Italy, learned the marble trade at an early age. He migrated to the United States in 1920 and worked on Los Angeles City schools, the Roosevelt Hotel and at churches and other buildings throughout the city.
