Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph caption dated August 25, 1960 reads, "A true friend for 25 years to all the children on Forman avenue in North Hollywood is missing today. Ole Joe is gone. For a quarter of a century Joe had sat in the rear patio at the home of Dr. J. Leigh Faul, 4318 Forman Ave., and he was the best listener in the neighborhood. But Monday night Joe, a 6-foot, life size statue of a Mexican man, was discovered stolen. Joe's hands and head were carved from wood. His body was stuffed material that allowed Joe to sprawl his lanky frame in the patio chair. 'All the boys and girls who have grown up in the neighborhood have known and loved Ole Joe,' said Mrs. Faul. 'He was one of the family.'" Photograph caption reads, "Ole Joe missing after 25 years - Statue stolen from North Hollywood home."
