Description
The community of Woodlake, CA, had a city band in the 1940s, composed of both business people and students. The band, which practiced in the high school band room on Whitney Avenue, "marched in Portuguese parades all over the county." Members shown are, front row left to right, David Peden, Anna Alden, Dick Edmiston, Ruth Kress, Melvin Haury, George Webb, Lee Grimstead, Clement Haury, Tubby (Edgar) Lynds, Jene Eberle, and Elmer Yocubets. Second row, Bill Lewis, Dale Brown, Jack Webb, James Parkinson, Lloyd Lucas, Ewell Blair, Turk Lynds, Eugene Frey, Art Moran, Charles Blair, Fred Rabe, and Harold (Shorty) Beutler.
