Two midget horses from the herd recently found isolated on a high plateau in the Colorado River are shown when they were auctioned off on March 10, 1941, for $16 each to John Ward, at right, proprietor of a carnival show at Ocean Park. At left is Humane Officer Harry Pepper. The horses were reportedly abandoned by a cowboy actor.
