Description
Photograph article dated May 14, 1963 partially reads, "While Birmingham High continues to lead the West Valley League swimmers with its usual overpowering tactics, a new element has been added to the annual swim finals. Monday afternoon it was the East Valley League establishing the better times in the qualifying rounds. The East Valley marks bettered the West in all the varsity events except the 100 backstroke and 50 freestyle." Photograph caption reads, "Monroe's Bob Murden shown during East Valley League swimming preliminaries - Swimmers from Poly High School dominated the action at the Harvard School pool Monday."
