58-59: Exeter Oil Co. pumping oil well located at 23rd Street and Junipero Avenue, near top of Signal Hill, burning 10:30 pm after fire started in belt house. One of two large oil tanks beside derrick afire. Firemen are Signal Hill Fire Dept. Torch atop hill visible many miles in clear dry air".
