Description: “A few of Mr. Lawrie’s scholars.” Group portrait of 12 local boys seated on the ground wearing cloth tunics. James Hay Lawrie was a Presbyterian missionary from Edinburgh and based on Aneityum [Anatom], New Hebrides [Vanuatu], from 1879-1896. Later he was minister of several charges in New South Wales. He died in 1929.
