Mural 'In commemoration of the 70th Anniversary of the Battle of the Somme'; image depicts actions of '36th Ulster Division (U.V.F.) [Ulster Volunteer Force] R.I.R. [Royal Irish Rifles] Western'. The Ulster Division, raised after some doubts by the British authorities, was one of those selected to make the initial assault in the battle of the Somme on July 1st 1916 (allowing for the differences in the calendar, 1st July was also the anniversary of the Battle of the Boyne in 1690).
