Dennis Wholey discusses his book, The Miracle of Change, which explores change in all its aspects and its impact on an individual’s sense of well-being. Filled with practical strategies and important insights, The Miracle of Change, draws upon the personal reflections of individuals who share their own experiences and expertise in successfully navigating life’s most challenging aspects. Wholey and Martinson spend the majority of the interview discussing Wholey’s experience wrestling with alcoholism, both his own and that of his father. Wholey relates to Martinson that most people live lives of quiet desperation because we are afraid and that fear keeps us penned in a comfort zone unwilling to change our actions, beliefs, and resultant behaviors. He hopes that this book will demonstrate that even though we, as humans, are imperfect, we have the ability and resiliency to overcome fear and to initiate and accept change to live a better a life: that we have the courage to be despite our human imperfection and fear.
