Description
Photograph of construction of Boulder Dam, ca.1934. Roads wind against the hills along the water's edge in the foreground and disappear into dark tunnels in the jagged mountains above on either side. One road continues past the body of water to the many structures and automobiles which congregate at the base of the incomplete dam at center. Lines run above the dam from the lightly-colored structures and curved roads on the top of the mountain on the right to the roads and structures that top the left. More dim, smooth water can be seen in the background beyond the dam.
