Caption sleeve reads: "Photographer: Emery. Reporter: Phister. Assignment: Wilform buggy works, Long Beach. Special instructions: For Monday. 81: Left to right: William Formaneck, head of Wilform Buggy Works in Long Beach with his shop superintendent Dale Berry, inspecting a pony sulky. In background are rows of horse racing sulkies made in the plant at 1322 Coronado Ave. Shop turns out 500 to 600 rigs a year and is second largest in nation--but there are only 3 Buggy Works left in America".
