Description
260 East Blithedale Photo shows brown shingled, white trimmed church building taken from the right front corner. Three double hung "church-style" windows are in the front and a few stairs with an open railing lead up the a recessed entry door on the right. A wing facing the side street has three similar sindows and plain basement windows are underneath. The enclosed caption from the 1983 Walk into History reads, "In 1906 a Methodist Sunday School was started and the following year a congregation was formed, meeting in the Outdoor Art Club. This property was bought from Fred Bagshaw and c a tent was erected for services. The original tent and furniture cost $198. By 1913 sufficient funds were raised to construct the church building. additions were made in 1940 and 1954. When there was need for a larger site, land was purchased at the other end of Sycamore at Camino Alto. The new faciity was completed in 1959. This building now serves the Marin Christian Center."
