Photograph article dated August 23, 1961 partially reads, "Clarence Villian stood under the awning of his Sylmar house trailer and watched the flies circling and darting in the hot noon sun of the street. 'The heat pulls them out from under the awning about this time every day,' he said. 'The metal awning gets too hot for them.' 'They come back in off the street about 5 p.m., when it gets cooler,' said Mrs. Villiain. 'They get so thick we have to put our hands over our mouth to walk around outside.' Mrs. George Patereau, trailer park owner at 13120 Bradley Ave., where the Villian's live, nodded in agreement... Mrs. Patereau's and the Villians' complaint is one of hundreds that have been received by the City Health Department from people in the Valley this summer." Photograph caption reads, "Mrs. Harold Allen, 11595 Kelsey St., hits fly - Studio City woman not alone in fly fight."
