Description
A Christmas card and calendar with a colored photograph of a Japanese geisha, 1906. The card has the 1907 calendar concealed beneath a portion of the photograph, which shows the geisha in traditional Japanese clothing and holding a koto. At the bottom is a printed phrase "A Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year" while at the top is a red cloth ribbon affixed to a hole punched in the center near the edge. Inside the cover to the calendar is a handpainted flower in the Japanese water color style. Each calendar page has the Japanese pictograph for the month and year, as well. With some edge denting at the bottom left corner and wear to the ribbon, the condition is good.
