Photograph caption dated January 25, 1965 reads "Dan Porter, Taft High's 5-3 guard, brings the ball down against Fremont's Michael Washington Saturday in the quarter-finals of the city basketball playoffs at Venice High. Although Porter is successful in moving the ball, Taft was defeated by Fremont, 57-49, and was eliminated."
