Here is a view looking north, up the Los Angeles River, at the Seaside Boulevard footbridge spanning the channel. Located near the mouth of the Los Angeles River, the first bridge was destroyed in the 1938 flood. This one opened in February of 1939. In this photograph, the partly dry river appears to be at low tide. There is rocky breakwater shown in the foreground along the left edge of the river. Also visible are a row of palm trees and a Long Beach Harbor Department "Pier A" water tank. At left in the background, multiple oil rigs are also seen. Downtown waterfront buildings are partly visible in the right background. DATE NOTES: Noted on image back. ORIG. IMAGE: 8" x 10" B&W glossy print. NEGATIVE: Yes. KEYWORDS: Mouth, port, water.
