Description
Identified at one time as the "Annex" to the Municipal Auditorium, this is an early photograph of the Long Beach Arena under construction. A comment on the back of the photograph states, in part that "This structure, approved by a vote of the people, is being built with Tidelands Oil Funds. It is to have a capacity of some 15,000..." The picture also shows an Auto Park building and Gust K. Newberg Construction trailers. DATE NOTES: circa July 1961. ORIG. IMAGE: 5" x 7" B&W glossy print. NEGATIVE: no.
