This photograph is contained in one of two volumes by Dobbin titled "Album of San Francisco."
Text written under photo: "View of the Northern Part of the City taken from on top of the 'Chronicle' building 1907. Note Alcatraz Island & Marin Co. Hills." View looks north up Kearny toward Telegraph Hill. Rebuilding of downtown San Francisco is well under way. Prominent structures include Old St. Mary's at the left, and the old Hall of Justice in the middle distance. The Kohl Building, the Merchants' Exchange, and the Mills Building are the three major buildings at the extreme right.
