Description
Postcard shows a photo of the first steel tower, at the end of Pier 24, San Francisco, with the SS President Harrison of the Dollar Lines, now APL, below it. On the right, the Matson liner Mariposa is at the dock. There are a few tar paper shacks on the left of Rincon Hill. Photo was taken near the site of the present Union Oil Co. building at First & Harrison. This postcard was made to commemorate the 50 year anniversiary of the bridge, started in 1933 and finished in 1936. Number 3 of a 10 postcard limited edition set.
