Photograph was edited for publication purposes This photograph appears to have been taken near the Van Nuys Courthouse on Sylvan Street and Van Nuys Boulevard. Photograph caption dated June 16, 1950 reads, "Luke Bonds, poultryman, 16419 Parthenia St., Sepulveda, holds on to his 18 months old Great Dane, 'Brassie,' after Judge Philbrick McCoy in Van Nuys Municipal Court found Bonds guilty of harboring a vicious dog, allowing the animal to go free and unrestrained and failing to keep the dog on the premises. Brassie, according to testimony, had bitten two children. Date for sentencing is June 30."
