Kennedy's wife, Katherine, and their three children, Billy, 11, Tommy, 7, and Mary Jo, 8, all died when their vacation camper overturned near Barstow. The family was traveling to the East to visit relatives. William Kennedy was unable to travel and remained at home. Photograph dated June 20, 1962.
