Description
Photograph of an exterior view of the Nevada City Hotel on Commercial Street, ca.1900. An automobile with what appears to be a flat tire sits on the left in front of the two-story, lightly-colored hotel. The entrance just behind the automobile is dark and shaded by the porch above and the second floor has seven windows with shutters. The front of the first floor appears to be wood paneled while the second floor appears to be brick and the adjacent wall to the right seems to be stone. The abutting building to the left has the same inconsistency. "Nevada City Hotel on Commercial Street has gone the way of all crumbling ruins of the Mother Lode Country".
