Caption slip reads: "Photographer: Jim Brezina. Date: 1958-07-10. Assignment: Dedication of Ocean Park. Caption no.1: 12 negatives. Actress Mitzi Gaynor drops lei into waters of Pacific Ocean Civilians in background are Lt. Comm. O.E. Emmons, Santa Monica Naval Reserve, small man, if shown, is James MacLeod, member of British consulate. Sailors are from local reserve units. Caption no. 2. 12 negs. Sailors 'welcome aboard' island Mitiz (?) Gaynor and Maleatia Tufele, son of highest ranking Samoan chief and former clerk of his nation's legislature. Also pix [sic] of Miss Gaynor and Malaetia Tufele. Tufele putting grass skirt around Miss Gaynor as she does hula. Trees in background are actual papaya trees, only ones in California. Caption no. 3: Other pix [sic] of train with Miss Gaynor and Tufele, local dignataries [sic] and operators of new Pacific Ocean Park. Also Miss Gaynor feeding bananas to chimps. Other Samoan, if shown in pix [sic], is Asovalu Tuiasosopo. Tufele can be identified by mustache".
