Various bones are exposed in situ in the bank of a pond: A large bone at the bottom is humerus of the sloth ; immediately above it in shadow in pelvis of sloth (partially exposed) ; above that the long bone is tibia of camel. Next above it is tibia of saber-toothed tiger ; directly to the left is radius of sloth. Upright bone at right is pelvis of saber-tooth tiger ; below is pelvis of camel ; under that is femur of camel ; under the femur is scapula of same. At extreme left is vertebra of sloth. Some of the bones are still stuck fast in the matriz and are not completely exposed.
